Take precautions before taking medication to treat erectile dysfunction

In August 2003, the US FDA approved Levitra Vardenafil as an erectile dysfunction drug. Like Viagra, Levitra belongs to a class of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors, so both medicines work in the same way. Levitra Vardenafil helps men with impotence to achieve long enough and firm erections in response to sexual stimulation. However, the long-awaited competitor of Pfizer's blockbuster drug Viagra, Levitra, has been praised better than Viagra in several studies because it remains effective in the body for longer, has fewer side effects and is safe for heart disease patients.

Levitra Vardenafil is marketed by pharmaceutical giants Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline and is a prescription drug that is used only to treat erectile dysfunction. Levitra is not a recreational drug that any man can take to experience a sexual high. Like all other prescription drugs, vardenafil has certain side effects and is contraindicated in certain circumstances. Precautions should be taken before using Levitra. Only take Levitra Vardenafil if you have erectile dysfunction and after consulting a doctor.

Definition of Levitra Vardenafil

Vardenafil is the active ingredient in the impotence therapy pill. Levitra Vardenafil, like Viagra Sildenafil, is a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor. Levitra Vardenafil helps smooth the muscles of the penis, which in turn increases blood flow to the penis and enables men with impotence to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. When sexual activity ends, blood flow to the penis decreases and the penis returns to its normal state.

It should be noted that Levitra Vardenafil does not work alone. Sexual stimulation is necessary to cause an erection. After taking Levitra, it takes effect within 60 minutes and remains in the body for about 5 hours.

The advantage of Levitra is that it is very selective against PDE-5 and has no effects on other isoenzymes. This enables a lower dose of vardenafil to have the same effect as a larger dose of Viagra (an average dose of Levitra is 10 mg, an average dose of Viagra is 50 mg), even if two medications belong to the same class of medication and therefore act in the same way essentially the same.

Precautions before using Levitra Vardenafil

Levitra Vardenafil is a prescription medication for erectile dysfunction. If Levitra is not taken carefully, it can be dangerous for you. Make sure you have taken the right precautions before using Levitra. Take the following precautions before using Vardenafil:

The greatest precaution is to never use Levitra without first consulting your doctor. Understand all the side effects associated with the medication and talk about your health and the medications you are taking. Depending on your condition, your doctor may adjust the dose of Vardenafil for you or prescribe a separate treatment; do not use Levitra if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.Because there is some risk of heart failure during sexual activity, tell your doctor if you are talking about treatment with Levitra if you have cardiovascular disease, including hypertension, irregular heartbeat, or high blood pressure angina. Levitra is not recommended for men with uncontrolled high blood pressure. Levitra Vardenafil should be used with caution in patients using alpha blockers for heart disease.

Discuss the condition of your penis with your doctor and let them know if you have groin pain or if you urinate. Tell your doctor if you have physical symptoms, including changes in the shape and size of your testicles or penis. Also discuss whether you have had a painful / persistent erection (priapism), sickle cell anemia, etc. in the past. Levitra may cause dizziness or vision problems. Therefore, caution should be exercised when using Levitra while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that requires mental vigilance. To relieve dizziness, it is advisable to limit alcohol consumption while using Levitra.

Because Levitra and other medicines in its class can cause visual disturbances such as increased sensitivity to light and visual disturbances, it is important to discuss whether you suffer from night blindness, tunnel vision or visual disturbances other genetic eye problems.

Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.

Levitra Vardenafil should never be used by women or children.

Caution should be used when using Levitra Vardenafil in the elderly, as they are sensitive to the side effects of the medicine.

Erectile dysfunction - diagnosis and treatment

Your doctor will ask you questions about your erectile dysfunction and the risk factors or possible causes. A physical exam is then performed. You may also be referred to a urologist for further assessment.

Certain tests can be performed and include:

Blood tests: to assess diabetes, high cholesterol, testosterone, kidney disease, etc.

Urine tests: also for the assessment of diabetes and kidney diseases.

Duplex ultrasound: This ultrasound exam is used to assess blood flow to the penis and venous leaks. A prostaglandin injection is given to induce an erection and duplex ultrasound is used to measure blood flow.

Nocturnal swelling of the penis: it is normal for a man to have 5 to 6 erections while sleeping. When such erections occur, it means that the penis has an intact nerve and blood supply. These nocturnal erections can be measured with a pressure or a manometer.

Bulbo cavernous reflex test: used to determine whether there is an intact nervous system in the penis. If the penis of the glands is tight, there is a normal reflex contraction of the anus.

Other tests: such as penis biothesiometry, penis angiography, body cavernosometry, magnetic resonance angiography etc. are sometimes listed.

How is ED treated?

How erectile dysfunction is treated largely depends on the cause. Your doctor will assess the physical and / or psychological components that can contribute to the problem of erectile dysfunction and decide which type of treatment is best for you. Treatments (with the exception of testosterone supplementation for testosterone deficient) generally work temporarily to provide an erection that is suitable for intercourse, but do not permanently solve the underlying problem.

Oral medication:

PDE5 inhibitors: These are prescription drugs that block the effects of PDE5. This causes the penile arteries to relax during sexual stimulation, causing the cavern body to fill with blood from the penile shaft. The drugs in this category are: Sildenfil (Viagra), Tadalafil (Cialis) and Vardenafil (Levitra).

Tips:

Psychological factors that cause or contribute to the emergency must be addressed through counseling.

Injectable drugs, creams and penis suppositories:

These drugs are given just before sexual intercourse.

Vacuum Therapy:

A penis pump is used to draw blood into the penis. A tension ring is then placed on the base of the penis to maintain an erection by preventing blood from flowing.

Surgery:

Prosthetic implants are sometimes used as a last resort when other treatments have failed.
